FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
The number of photos you receive depends on the package you choose. All sessions include a minimum of 15 fully edited images, and you’re welcome to upgrade to a larger collection if you’d like more. After your session, you’ll receive a beautiful online proofing gallery where you can select your favourites — and you can always add extra photos, a full gallery upgrade, or keepsake products if you wish
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first 7–14 days after birth. During this stage, babies are still very sleepy, curly, and comfortable being gently posed, which helps us capture those soft, peaceful newborn images everyone loves.
That said, every baby is different — and I happily photograph newborns up to 4–6 weeks old as well. Sessions for older newborns may include more awake moments, stretches, and natural poses, which can be just as beautiful.
If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, don’t worry — your booking is always flexible. We’ll adjust your session date to a time that suits both your baby’s needs and your family
How should we dress for our family session?
Choosing the right outfits can make a huge difference in how your photos look and feel — but don’t worry, it’s easier than you think! I recommend soft, neutral, and earthy tones that complement each other without being too “matchy.” Think creams, beige, soft browns, pastels, dusty colours, sage, blush, grey, and warm tones. These colours photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family and connection.
Avoid large logos, heavy patterns, or bright neon colours, as they can distract in photos. Textures like knits, linen, and soft layers add a lovely, natural look. Aim for outfits that coordinate rather than match exactly — choose a colour palette and build everyone’s outfits around it.
Above all, comfort matters. Wear something that feels good when you sit, move, play, and cuddle. If you feel relaxed and confident, it will show in your photos.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
Absolutely — most of my clients feel the same way at first! You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do. My sessions are relaxed, gentle, and guided, so you’ll never be left wondering where to stand or how to look. I’ll walk you through everything in a natural, easy way that helps you feel comfortable and confident.
My focus is on real connection — cuddles, laughter, little moments — not stiff posing. You’d be surprised how quickly the nerves disappear once you’re interacting with your family. By the end of the session, most clients tell me they actually enjoyed the experience!
All you need to do is show up as you are — I’ll take care of the rest.
